DIY / Garage Air Compressors The air compressors in this category are typically 2HP to 2.5HP pumps on 24lt pumps. They are designed for light use. For example, blowing up car tyres or blowing down work tops. They are all direct drive, and some are oil-free compressors Maximum CFM (FAD) = 6.5
Workshop / Semi-Pro Air Compressors These compressors all have at least 3hp pumps on 50lt - 100lt tanks. Mostly direct drive, some belt driven compressors. They are designed for use with common air tools such as impact wrenches, drills, screw drivers and spray guns. They can handle DA Sander work too to an extent. No oil-free units at this level. Maximum CFM (FAD) = 8.5
Professional/Industrial Air Compressors Some sinlge phase but mostly three phase, these air compressors are designed for a professional environment. With tanks ranging from 100lt - 270lt and pumps from 3hp - 10hp, these compressors will handle full time sprayingm sand blasting and DA sanding. Maximum CFM (FAD) = 10.5
